Support the Swedish Heart and Lung Association and help others

The Swedish Heart and Lung Association, Riksförbundet HjärtLung, spreads cardiovascular and pulmonary disease awareness. We do this through education, advocacy and supporting research. We are a patient organization that advocates good care and quality of life through lifestyle activities and community.

Känn Pulsen, which translates to check your pulse, is a partnership between us, Pfizer, and Bristol Myers Squibb. Together we want to raise awareness about atrial fibrillation. When people discover atrial fibrillation early, their risk of stroke is reduced.

You can help us by donating or becoming a member.

Our main objectives

  • All people with heart, vascular and lung disease should receive an early and correct diagnosis and prompt treatment.
  • Good and equal care, rehabilitation and self-care should be available to everyone – regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, income or where you live.
  • Patients should get good information, education, and the possibility to be involved in their care.
  • People living with cardiovascular and pulmonary disease, and their relatives, should be given the best conditions to live a good life.

By supporting us, you can help people with cardiovascular and pulmonary disease

There are several ways to support our work. It doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. We are many, and we help each other. Together we make a difference.

Become a member

As a member, you’ll gain knowledge and motivation for self-care and a better lifestyle. The local associations create security by offering activities and good fellowship. In addition, we educate and share relevant research for a better everyday life after a diagnosis. You’ll also receive Status magazine (in Swedish), which keeps you updated on medical news and features.

How to become a member

Make a gift or become a monthly donor

With your gift, you help us fund research, arrange activities for a better lifestyle, and provide community support through our associations. If you choose to give a memorial or commemorative gift, you will receive a nice gift certificate. You can also make a one-off gift, for example via Swish.

How to donate

As a first step to detecting irregular heartbeats, feel your pulse with two fingers twice a day for two weeks.
