Power to change

The Swedish Heart and Lung Association, Riksförbundet HjärtLung, is one of the largest organizations for patients in Sweden, with close to 35 000 members and 170 associations across the country. Together we have the knowledge, power and commitment to give people living with heart, vascular or lung disease a longer and richer life.

With our joint knowledge and experiences, we can work actively together to influence and create changes for the benefit of our issues and members. We carry a strong and important voice in society, we work for the best possible care and we support patient-chosen research.

Känn Pulsen, Check your pulse, is a collaboration between us, Pfizer, and Bristol Myers Squibb. Together we want to raise awareness and knowledge about atrial fibrillation. When people discover their fibrillation early, they can reduce the risk of stroke.

You can help us by becoming a member or making a monthly donation.

A matter of the heart

  • All people with heart, vascular and lung disease should receive an early and correct diagnosis and prompt treatment.
  • Good and equal care, rehabilitation and self-care should be available to everyone – regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, income or where you live.
  • Patients should get good information, education, and increased possibilities to be involved in their care.
  • People living with cardiovascular and pulmonary disease, and their relatives, should be given the best conditions to live a good life.

Your support can help people with cardiovascular and pulmonary disease

There are several ways to support our work. It doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. There are many of us and we all help each other. Together we make a difference.
